Greenlet starts residential Demand Response project with one of the largest utilities in the US (East Coast)
July 15, 2011
Working with one of the largest US electric retailers, Greenlet recently started a Demand Response project in private homes on the east coast. The electric retailer installed Greenlet’s software at their control center and sent Greenlet’s units to home owners for self deployment. Capacity is now being managed in those homes via the software in the energy control center. Consumers monitor costs and usage of the appliances they connected through the MyGreenlet personal web portal.
The electric company is testing innovative Demand Response models to manage energy and capacity in homes, offering incentives to consumers for power reduction. Various appliances are connected and regulated, including air-conditioners, washing machines, dryers and others. The companies’ goal is to deploy the systems in thousands of homes in 2012. The utility’s name was not disclosed.
